Renewable Energy M&A: Keppel acquires a 25% stake in the operational 465 MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 offshore wind farm in Germany

The company acquired the stake from private equity investor GULF ENERGY for $314 million. The deal mark's Keppel Corporation Limited's and Keppel Infrastructure Trust (KIT)'s entry into the offshore wind generation segment, and is in line with Keppel's strategy to pivot from offshore oil and gas operations.

The deal diversifies the partnership matrix for the project to create a synergistic alliance, led by offshore wind heavyweight Ørsted - as seen to be consistent with the collaboration strategies generally observed in the offshore wind sector.
