LyondellBasell has committed to offtake 125 MWac (163 MW) from the Brazoria Solar farm, which boasts a capacity of 325 MW. Located southwest of Houston, this solar farm is scheduled to commence commercial operations by the end of 2025. This agreement marks a significant step towards reducing carbon emissions and embracing sustainable practices in the chemical industry.

TotalEnergies' Cottonwood Bayou Solar plant, with a capacity of 455 MW, will supply LyondellBasell with 150 MWac (195 MW) of clean electricity. Situated south of Houston, this solar plant is expected to begin commercial operations by the end of 2024. By leveraging the power of the sun, this collaboration will contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.

Both CPPAs between TotalEnergies and LyondellBasell are indexed on merchant prices through an innovative upside-sharing mechanism. This demonstrates the commitment of both companies to navigate and share potential market fluctuations over the contract term. By embracing this approach, TotalEnergies and LyondellBasell are showcasing their dedication to delivering competitive renewable electricity and supporting their partners' decarbonization goals.
